Find the wind speed for the equipment you are using by looking in the manual, decals, or manufacturers data plate.
Measure the wind at ground level and as you are elevating.
Take into account buildings, walls or trees that could be providing a ‘shelter’.
Take care going over the roof line or tree line as this will be windier.
Be aware of buildings close together that could create a wind tunnel.
Take note that you MAY be working in the wind even if you are indoors, for example, if you are in a warehouse with shutter doors open, which could endanger a zero wind rated machine.
If you are unsure about the wind or wind speed, cease work until the information is obtained.
